The Graduate Program on Chemistry of the São Paulo State
University (UNESP) is organizing the 1st Advanced School on
Materials for Photonic Applications - Glasses, Optical Fibers and
Sol-Gel Materials (SAMPA) to be held at the Institute of Chemistry
(UNESP), Araraquara-SP, Brazil, from 6 to 14 October, 2012.
The 1st SAMPA is supported by the São Paulo Research
Foundation
- FAPESP (Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado
de
São Paulo) and is addressed to graduate students who are
pursuing a Master or PhD degree in Chemistry, Physics of Materials
Science and Engineering (MSE) in graduate programs all over the world.
The main purpose of the 1st SAMPA is to convey to the participants an
updated overview about the recent scientific and technological advances
on the school topics. The program of the 1st SAMPA has been planned to
cover important topics relating the processing, properties and
applications in optical fibers, glasses, and sol-gel materials.
All lectures will be given by invited speakers who are recognized
worldwide by their scientific contributions in those fields.
